South Florida doesn't do creaky old mansions, but it more than makes up for it in October. This year brings an air-conditioned haunt in Davie, a haunted roller coaster in total darkness, a brand-new 13-acre scream park, and a two-decade favorite at the fairgrounds.
Every attraction below was checked against the organizer's own 2026 listing. Several haunts price tickets by date, and online tickets are often cheaper than the gate, so check the ticket link before you go. Looking for something gentler? Still Waiting on 2026 Dates
These haunts have run in past seasons but hadn't posted a 2026 schedule when we checked. We'll update this guide when they do.
The Haunt, Davie: four outdoor haunted trails in the woods at 3900 SW 100th Ave. It usually includes a family-friendly Twilight Trail for kids 10 and under. The organizer advises parental discretion for kids under 13. https://www.floridahaunt.com/
Catskill Haunts, Loxahatchee: a family-run haunt at 16651 Rembrandt Road with haunted houses and a separate kids' Fun Farm area. https://catskillhaunts.com/
Before You Scream
Buy online, go early. Most haunts charge more at the gate and more on the last weekend of October. Thursdays and early-season nights are cheaper and shorter on lines.
Know the rules. Scare actors don't touch guests, and guests can't touch them. Most haunts ban guest masks, and several ban photos and drinks inside the houses.
Check the health warnings. Fright Nights says people who are pregnant, have heart or respiratory problems, or are prone to seizures should skip it. Expect strobe lights, fog and sudden loud noises everywhere on this list.
Plan for parking. It's $10 at Fright Nights (card only) and $20 at The Horrorland. It's free at Nights of Fright and included at House of Horror.
Want something gentler? Our fall festivals and pumpkin patch guide covers trick-or-treat nights, farm days and family Halloween events across all three counties.
