About The Friendly Scoop

The Friendly Scoop is a local guide to Broward and Palm Beach County. We cover the things neighbors actually ask each other about: what’s happening this weekend, where to take the kids, which parks and restaurants are worth the drive, and what the latest news from city hall means for your street.

Everything here is written for the people who live here, not for tourists passing through.

Meet the Founder: Chris Cusimano

Chris Cusimano, founder of The Friendly Scoop

I have lived in South Florida for more than 40 years. This is where I chose to raise my family, send my kids to school and build my business, so the stories on this site are the same ones I care about at my own kitchen table.

I have spent more than 26 years in real estate here, starting in 2001 as an apprentice to a home flipper and earning my Florida real estate license in 2005. Today I lead the Homes by Cusi team at Keller Williams Realty Boca Raton, where our team serves clients in English, Spanish, Hebrew and Russian. I also coach other real estate agents through Coaching by Cusi.

After decades of helping families move to and around Broward and Palm Beach, I noticed the same questions coming up over and over. Where are the good parks? What is there to do with the kids this weekend? What is actually happening with that empty lot down the street? The Friendly Scoop is my answer to those questions, in one place, written by a neighbor.
